New Delhi. A visiting Bangladeshi delegation led by its Land Minister Shri Md. Rezaul Karim Hira called on the Union Minister of State for Rural Development Shri Sisir Adhikari here today. The two leaders shared ideas of land records management in the delegation level meeting. In his opening remarks, the Union Minister of State , Shri Sisir Adhikari highlighted the purpose of modernisation of land record system in India specially the National Land Record Modernisation Program (NLRMP). The citizen focus of the program and its role as a comprehensive tool for supporting and planning, developmental, regulatory and dissemination management activity was also highlighted. The visiting delegation was informed that the ushering the system of conclusion titles is the ultimate goal of the program. Additional Secretary in the Deptt. of Land Resources, Shri Chinmoy Basu apprised the visiting delegation about the salient features and innovations under National Land Record Management Program.
The visiting Bangladesh Minister Shri Md. Rezaul Karim Hira lauded India’s role in the freedom movement and subsequent development of Bangladesh. He along with his delegation sought inputs from India in Land Record Management. The delegation evinced keen interest in the process of digitisation of land records and especially the computerisation. The Bangladesh delegation would be visiting West Bengal and Karnataka to learn from India’s experience in the National Land Record Management Program.
The Bangladeshi delegation comprised of State Minister in the Ministry of Land, advocate Mostafizur Rahman; Member of Parliament and Chairman, Standing Committee on Ministry of Land, Shri S.K.M. Mozammel Huq; Member of Parliament and Member, Standing Committee on Ministry of Land Resources, Shri Benjir Ahmed; Chairman, Land Reforms Board Shri Abdur Razzaque; Joint Secretary, Ministry of Land, Shri Nikhil Ranjan Mondal and Minister, Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, Shri Ruhul Alam Siddique.
