Khayerpur (Tripura). Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday while addressing a poll rally in Tripura’s, Khayerpur area called upon the people to oust the present Left Front government which, he alleged, works only for the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) party. “Hindustan is a big bouquet and a bouquet will have different flowers and every flower is important, whether it is small or big. So we value your thoughts, concepts and ideas.” said Rahul Gandhi amidst loud applauds.
Rahul Gandhi said, there is a CPM government in Tripura. The funds sent by the centre for the state are siphoned off by the CPM party for their selfish interest. All contracts in government schemes in Tripura go to CPM cadres or officials; all jobs are given to CPM party men. If you are not in the ranks of the CPM, you are not going to get any benefit from state government. Congress wants to form a pro people government in Tripura. Congress led govt. at the centre implemented the MNREGA by which every poor in the villages is ensured with minimum hundred days of job without any discrimination. But in Tripura this employment guarantee scheme is not being implemented properly and as a result  number of youths are unemployed here.

Congress, if voted to power, intends to ensure implementation of the 6th Pay Commission in the state and mitigate the burgeoning unemployment problem. Congress also will utilize the central assistance provided to Tripura in cent per cent for the benefit of the people. We are going to bring in the landmark legislation for food security but the left front is opposing the move. It was like the days in erstwhile communist-ruled Soviet Russia, Romania, and Czechoslovakia where the people ultimately threw communist rulers to oblivion. Even communists in China told me that it was time for communists in India to understand the market. The ideology of communists in India has become obsolete and people are bound to suffer if they are in power.
The left front wasted twenty long years without bringing any development in the state. It is the people, not the Left front or its leaders, who suffer in the end. That is why we want a government of the people, a government of aam aadmi. We need a government, not of communists, but of the people of Tripura. People are not given the power to decide unlike all other states in the country. So you remove the Left Front as you have done in Kerala and West Bengal.

I am thankful to you for assembling here in large numbers and waiting for me for so long. I will never forget your love and passion. Congress treats every state and every citizen equally and we show no discrimination. Hindustan is a big bouquet and a bouquet will have different flowers and every flower is important, whether it is small or big. So we value your thoughts, concepts and ideas. I will take your voice, dreams and ideas to Delhi. I want to take your voice to Congress President, the Prime Minister and other ministers. Not only Tripura, but the voice of every State in the country should reach Delhi so that the Centre can take adequate steps to resolve the problems of the States. Our govt. treats everyone equally, without any discrimination. We don’t see things in terms of caste, creed, religion or region. For us every state in India, whether it is big or small, is equal. Your people put in your sincere and honest hard work and you are capable of bringing in positive changes. You play a crucial role in taking our country forward and you can do it in Tripura too. This is the time to change Tripura. The youth in Tripura can transform the state. Let us join hands together to throw out the communist rule and to bring a pro people Congress government here.
